Dino Lamberti

Winemaker | Sniffer-in-Chief

Cross between a Dachshund and a Rottweiler (yes, really)

Wine is about instinct, balance, and a good bit of digging around.

Breed:

One part Rottweiler strength, one part Dachshund determination, Dino is the barrel-aged blend you didn’t know you needed.

Role at Long Dog Wines:

Dino is the heart and nose of the cellar. As Long Dog’s winemaker, he’s responsible for every bottle that leaves the farm, from grape to glass. With a palate honed over years of careful tasting and a nose that could detect cork taint from across the valley, Dino blends bold structure with subtle charm. His wines are full-bodied, balanced, and just a little bit cheeky. Sound familiar?

Personality:

Loyal as they come, happy to the core. Dino is the kind of dog who shows up early, stays late, and always brings good energy (and possibly a bit of mud). He’s a team player with a tail wag that reassures everyone: “We’ve got this.”

Hobbies:

  • Keeping the neighbour’s dogs in line (especially that German Shepard who thinks he runs things)
  • Getting down and dirty during crush season, mud, juice, and mystery stains included
  • Charming the ladies, both two- and four-legged, with his signature “wine dog” smile and rumbling tail thump

Favourite Wine:

Tannat. Bold, complex, and misunderstood, just like him. But he’s also partial to anything in the Long Dog Blend (he is the mastermind, after all).
