A pure Dachshund with a palate as refined as her posture and a presence that commands both respect and a comfy spot by the fire.

Role at Long Dog Wines:

Once the sharpest nose in the cellar, Lassy served as Long Dog Wines’ official wine taster for many seasons. Though now retired, she’s still very much part of the soul of the farm. A trusted mentor, gentle guide, and the warm heart at the centre of every gathering. Whether she’s reminiscing about the great 2019 vintage or offering an unsolicited opinion on the latest blend, her wisdom (and occasional wobble) are always welcome.

Personality:

Lassy loves her wine, a little too much, some might say, but she’s earned it. She’s a natural storyteller, always ready with a tale from vintages past, and has a maternal instinct that keeps the whole pack grounded. From calming Nibby’s nerves to giving Dino the side-eye when he gets a bit too experimental, she’s the one who holds us all together.

Hobbies:

• Lying by the fire with a blanket, a book, and (ideally) a glass of something red

• Reading the classics and the wine labels

• Sharing time with friends, visitors, and anyone who needs a bit of comfort and company

Favourite Wine:

Cabernet Franc, elegant, expressive, and full of quiet charm. Like her, it improves with age and has a lot to say if you take the time to listen.
